I had read the Selkie trilogy and had enjoyed it. I reread it recently and again enjoyed the fantasy and plot twists. I decided to read "Wind Chime Cafe." With a thirty year career in the Navy and having spent six months a year ago at Little Creek - the home base for the East Coast SEAL teams I was interested in how they would be portrayed. "Cafe" was a sensitive story that highlighted just how completely our government has abandoned it obligations to our veterans and continues to cut back on their pay and support at every opportunity. Ms. Moss writes love stories. I admit that I freely skip the pages of sexual encounters. I expected "Wedding" to be mostly romance. I was delighted to find that it contains a sensitive view of the sacrifices of our military and ongoing reminders of the fragile state of the human condition.Product details

What an amazing book! Not only are the characters very real and lovable, the story brings to life the very real problems facing military veterans as well as alcoholism and it's affect on the lives of others. It was such a pleasure to read a book with no spelling or grammatical errors let alone one that is so heart-warming that I didn't want to put it down. Can't wait for Wind Chime Summer and will definitely look for anything else written by this amazing author. Thank you so much, Sophie, for one of the best books I've read in a very long time!
Sophie Moss has done it again! She's created a sequel to Wind Chime Cafe that has everything we want romance, suspense, and a well-told story! Wind Chime Wedding starts where it should, right after Wind Chime Cafe. Some of the characters we remember while a few are new. We remember, of course, the lovely Heron Island. The author is so good at description that Heron Island actually feels like MY home, as if I've lived there all my life. With the introduction of Becca and Colin, sparks fly almost immediately, but alas, Becca is engaged to Tom. As her feelings for Colin grow, she realizes that maybe Tom isn't the right one for her. But....how does she dare tell him? They've been a couple since they were both in high school.
Wind Chime Wedding is an entertaining, thoughtful read. Once you start, you'll have to finish!! Well done, Sophie.
It's hard not to get so completely wrapped up in this story. The story plot is really great, and all of the characters are so warm and caring. I grew up in a small town where everyone knew their neighbor, and people really and truly cared about one another. I really, really miss those days, so this was a big treat for me....because it brought back so many wonderful childhood memories. I loved the pairing of Becca and Colin, but it was sweet little Luke that stole my heart. My heart went out to Taylor, too. No child should ever have to go through what she endured.
I hadn't read anything written by this author before, so I really didn't know what to expect. I was totally impressed by her writing, and will be checking out her other books.
Just finished reading Sophie Moss 2nd book in the Wind Chime series and enjoyed it as much as the first one. Sophie’s writing brings the charters to life and there’s so much brought out about todays many problems that effect a lot of people - and her insight on how to help solve some of those problems. Our Veterans do need everyone’s help and Sophie writing about them shows us ways we can help - just do your research and you’ll find ways to help. Our country is strong and our freedom is too often taken for granted - we owe so much to our service men and woman who have fought for our freedom and I’m so happy to see Sophie writing about them and showing us some ways to help.

After a long reading drought, returning to Heron Island was the perfect remedy for my bookish funk. Moss's love for the Chesapeake Bay area shines through in her writing. Weaved into the gorgeous setting are real characters whose heartaches and triumphs tug at a reader's heart and make it impossible to put the book down. I gobbled up Becca and Colin's story in less than a day and dropped off to sleep dreaming about oyster shells crunching under my shoes, salty breezes running through my hair, and the sound of wind chimes tinkling in my ears.
I'm eager for the release of Wind Chime Summer as I long to meet up with my good friends on Heron Island and continue on this enchanting, bittersweet journey with them.
